First call in three steps.

  1. 1. Choose a plan, create a key

    export GLOOM_DATASETS_KEY=gds_...
  2. 2. Call a dataset

    curl https://api.gloom.sh/v1/kpis/AAPL \
      -H "Authorization: Bearer $GLOOM_DATASETS_KEY"
  3. 3. Read it in code

    import os, requests

    key = os.environ["GLOOM_DATASETS_KEY"]
    r = requests.get("https://api.gloom.sh/v1/kpis/AAPL",
        headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {key}"})

Questions.

What may I do with the data?
Basic: internal business use. Desk: internal business use. Enterprise: display and redistribution, by contract.
How far back does each dataset go?
As far as the stored data shows, and no further. Every response carries historyStarts and coverage. When the store cannot establish them they are null, and the table above says not stated yet.
What is a credit?
A call costs its type times the dataset class. A lookup is 1, a date range 2, a search page 2, an evidence read 5. Class x1: 8-K events, US consumer prices, EIA energy inventories, CFTC positioning. Class x2: Executive pay, Government awards, KPIs and guidance. X-Credits-Cost says what each call spent.
What happens at the limit?
Calls stop with 429 credits_exhausted until the next period. There is no overage billing, and unused credits do not carry over.
Is there a free tier?
No. Plans start at $200 a month.
How is this different from Gloom Pro and the News API?
Gloom Pro is the live data plan of the Gloomberb terminal, for one person at a screen. Gloom Datasets sells datasets to code, with a licence per plan, and has no quotes, prices or options. Pro does not include Gloom Datasets credits. Both APIs answer on api.gloom.sh, with different keys: a Pro key does not read datasets, and a Gloom Datasets key (gds_) does not read Pro data. The News API stays its own product, with its own key.
Where does the data come from?
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the filing issuerUSAspending.govEuropean Union TEDUK Contracts Finder and Find a TenderGovernment of CanadaGLEIFU.S. Bureau of Labor StatisticsFederal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, original source BLSU.S. Energy Information AdministrationCommodity Futures Trading Commission
Is there an SLA or a SOC 2 report?
No. Neither exists today.
Is this investment advice?
No. It is data with its sources.
